May Dr Visit

I just left my OB visit for May. I took my nephew Nik with me (who just turned 8 last week) so he could hear her heartbeat, and just so he'd feel a little closer to his new cousin. I kept yawning while we were waiting for the Doc and Nik asked why I was so tired all the time now. I said "Well it's hard work growing a baby", so he responded wryly "Good Point.".

This time I saw the nurse practitioner. When she came in I introduced Nik to her, and he greeted her with "Hola!". She responded with a full sentence in Spanish, to which Nik embarrassingly replied "Uh, I only know a couple words.".

Not a very eventful checkup otherwise. I gained just 3 pounds and my blood pressure was great. They have no advise for my achy feet and puffy ankles once again. I have to come back in 3 weeks this time for my next checkup. Mike will be on vacation then so he'll go with me to that one.

Afterwards we went across the street to Healthy Beginnings to register Mike and I for the infant safety and childbirth prep classes. Nik asked what we were doing there, and after I explained it to him he looked at me puzzled and said in his little robot voice "Uhh, aren't you already a mother?". I just laughed and said "Yeah, but I didn't get those kids til after they were born.". He accepted my answer but still looked at me like I was being silly for taking the classes, and walked over to sit in the waiting area - next to the large selection of nursing bras :)
