HB to ME!

I got the cutest voicemail from the Cross family today wishing me a happy birthday, at 7:59 am, no less. I thought Maria was on crack for giving me such a wakeup call until I realized she was dropping Austin off at school. Much to my surprise the two of them plus little Skye sang (quite well I might add) a happy birthday tune to me. Then each one chimed in on their own to say happy birthday. It was all so adorable I saved the voicemail so I could listen to it later on today when I had road-rage or something. I can't wait till next year to get my birthday voicemail from the Cross'. I think it was better than the monitor (with integrated speakers and ipod dock) my parents got me or the ipod I made Mike buy me a couple months ago as an early present. I know it was better than a couple years ago when Chase called me like a week early to wish me HB, and it was certainly better than yesterday when my boss/Dad said HB to me from his desk. When I responded "it's tomorrow" he said wryly "what if I forget it tomorrow?".

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was kind of a monumental event for me. I think I grew up, er something. I say this because I made the Thanksgiving turkey. Actually, it was two turkeys. I made other stuffs, too. This is not something I do. I can't remember the last thing I cooked, seriously. The fact that my husband and my mother trusted me with this task blows me away. The fact that it came out really good blows me away even more. I should have made someone take my picture with my achievments - for proof. I feel like I was just accepted into some sort of exclusive club. I want like some sort of badge or something. A pin. Maybe a patch like the Boy Scouts get. Something, come on people, this was a big deal!
